Dog sledding & snowmobile day

Why choose? This day brings together the two ways to cross the Yukon winter: the silence of the dog sled and the freedom of the snowmobile.

On the sled, two to a team, you take turns driving and riding: you harness your huskies, learn to brake and to talk to your lead dogs, then mush through the boreal forest around Carcross. The only sounds are the runners and the dogs breathing.

Between the two activities, take a break: lunch is served indoors, in the warmth of the house, before you head out again.

Then the change of pace: after a driving lesson, you share a snowmobile, two to a machine, taking turns at the controls through the forest and down to the beach at Bennett Lake, before heading out across the frozen landscapes of the Southern Lakes. Your guide plans the order of the day and the routes according to snow, ice and weather.
