Terms and Conditions

General Terms and Conditions

By booking or participating in a tour and/or any related product or services with Boreal Kenels you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

By booking a Tour you acknowledge that you have read, understand and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you make a booking on behalf of other participants, you guarantee that you have the authority to accept and do accept these Terms on behalf of the other participants in your party.

1. Booking

All tours are subject to availability. We highly recommend to book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Your booking is confirmed when Boreal Kennels,( either through direct email or through the online booking system), issues a written confirmation after receipt of the applicable deposit/payment. Please check your confirmation carefully and report any incorrect or incomplete information to Boreal Kennels immediately.
You must be at least 18 years of age to make a booking. You agree to provide full, complete and accurate information to Boreal Kennels.

You acknowledge that adventure travel and the services offered by Boreal Kennels involve a significant amount of risk. You must read, understand and complete a waiver/release form before participating in any tour with Boreal Kennels. 

You acknowledge that Boreal Kennels provides tours and services that all include close proximity to our dogs. You acknowledge that you are comfortable to be around a large amount of dogs and that you are not allergic to dogs. The dogs are part of our family and are involved in everything we do. You acknowledge and understand that you cannot bring your own dog to any tours or services we offer

2. Required Medical Information

For all Multi-Day-Adventures you must complete Boreal Kennels Medical History Form. You will also receive a link with your booking confirmation.

If you have any pre-existing medical conditions which may impact your ability to travel, participate in a tour, travel to remote areas without immediate access to medical facilities or may adversely affect the experience of others on the tour Boreal Kennels will require the Medical History From to be signed by a licensed and practicing physician.

Pregnancy is considered a medical condition and has to be disclosed to Boreal Kennels at the time of booking. Boreal Kennels will refuse any women who are knowingly pregnant on all winter tours incl. day, half day and multi day adventures.

In the event that you do not complete the required medical Form for any reason by the deadline indicated on the booking confirmation, Boreal Kennels reserves the right to cancel your booking and all applicable cancellation fees will apply.

You are responsible for assessing whether a tour is suitable for you. Boreal Kennels will not provide any medical advice, however you are certainly more than welcome to contact us to discuss the expected level of fitness and possible risk but it is your own responsibility to assess those risks and requirements of each aspect of the tour based on your own unique circumstances, limitation, fitness level and medical requirement.

3. Travel Insurance

Boreal Kennels highly recommends that you have travel insurance. This insurance must cover personal injury and emergency medical expenses. You are strongly recommended to extend your coverage to include cancellation, curtailment, and all other expenses that may arise as a result of loss, damage, injury, delay or inconvenience while traveling.

Boreal Kennels is not responsible for any incidental expensed or consequential losses that you incur as a result of the injury or illness. You are fully responsible for all cost associated with but not limited to

  • Medical evacuation during the trip due to personal injury or death

  • Any hospital or medical bills

  • Trip cancelation fees

  • Additional fees due to unforeseen circumstances such as flight delays or cancelations

  • Infectious disease contracted through viruses, bacteria, parasites and fungi which may be transmitted through direct or indirect contact

  • Non refundable flights

  • Loss of earnings

  • Loss of enjoyment

You acknowledge that insurance coverage is not included in the cost of any Tour offered by Boreal Kennels. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have sufficient coverage and comply with the terms of the applicable insurance plans. You are responsible for advising your insurer of the type of travel, destination(s) and activities included in your booking so that the insurer may provide appropriate coverage.

4. Special Requirements

All food allergies and dietary restrictions must be disclosed to Boreal Kennels on the Medical History Form. We will use reasonable efforts to accommodate food request.

5. Age Requirements

Anyone under the age of 18 on the date of travel is considered a minor. Minors must always be accompanied by an adult. One adult may accompany up to two minors. The minimum age to participate in any Day or Multi Day adventures is 12 years old. The minimum age on half day tours is 5 years old.

The above requirements apply with no exceptions unless otherwise agreed in writing between the tour participant and an authorized staff member of Boreal Kennels.

6. Prices

Boreal Kennels will not increase the price of your tour after you have paid a deposit. Tours are priced and advertised in Canadian Dollars. 5% GST has to be added to all prices quoted in emails or advertised on Boreal Kennels homepage.

If booking online there will be a 6% booking fee added to the total of your cost. If you want to avoid the additional charge you will have to call Boreal Kennels to provide payment details.

7. Deposits & Payments

If you are solely booking your tour product or service online through Boreal Kennels homepage, full payment will be due at the time of booking.

If you are booking over email or phone with a Boreal Kennels staff member a 25% non refundable deposit will have to be paid at the time of booking. The balance of your booking will be due as outlined below

  • Half and Full day Tours – the day of your tour prior to tour start

  • Multi day Trips (2 to 5 days in length) – 30 days prior to tour start

  • Multi day Trips (6 days and more ) – 45 days prior to tour start

Deposits can be paid with Visa, Master Card or American Express. Muktuk Adventures Ltd also accepts e-transfer or wire transfers as a payment method

8. Cancelation by the participant

You may cancel your booking by notifying Boreal Kennels in writing only. Cancellation fees are as outlined below

  • Half and Full day tours

    • Cancelations received 72hours or more before tour departure: Full refund will be issued.

    • Cancelations received less than 72hour before tour departure: No refund

  • Multi day tours (2 to 5 days)

    • Cancelation received 30 days or more before tour start: 75% of total cost of the tour will be refunded (25% deposit will be retained)

    • Cancelation received less than 30 days before tour start: No refund

  • Multi day tours (6 days and more)

    • Cancelations received 45 days or more before tour start: 75% of total cost of the tour will be refunded (25% deposit will be retained)

    • Cancelation received less than 30 days in advance: No refund, full payment will be due

    • Cancelations received less than 72 hours in advance: No refund, full payment will be due

Boreal Kennels is not responsible for any charges levied by third parties or financial institutions and payable by you as a result of credit card or other payment transactions and will not refund or return any fees charged by third parties or financial institutions in connection with payments made to Boreal Kennels.

9. Cancelation of a tour by Boreal Kennels

A departure of a tour offered by will become guaranteed when the minimum number outlined in the tour description has made a deposit on that departure, or otherwise agreed in writing between the participant and an authorized staff member of Boreal Kennels.

In the very unlikely event that Boreal Kennels cancels a tour due to the minimum numbers of participants not met and the cancelation is not caused by your fault or negligence, you will have the choice of accepting the following from Boreal Kennels.

  • A substitute tour of equivalent or superior value

  • A substitute tour of lesser value if no tour of equivalent or superior value is reasonable available and to recover from Boreal Kennels the difference in price between the price of the tour originally purchased and the substitute tour

  • A full refund of all money paid to Boreal Kennels for the cancelled tour

In the event that Boreal Kennels has to cancel a tour due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, operational concerns or concern for your health and safety, enjoyment or comfort you will have the choice of the following from Boreal Kennels.

  • A substitute tour of equivalent or superior value

  • A full refund of all money paid to Boreal Kennels for cancelled day and half day tours

  • A 50% refund of your deposit or a 75% refund of full payment to Boreal Kennels for multi day tours.

Boreal Kennels is not responsible for any incidental expensed or consequential losses that you incur as a result of the cancelled booking such as but not limited to non refundable flights, loss of earnings or loss of enjoyment.

10. Changes of Itinerary

Itinerary changes may be necessary as a result of unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, operational concerns, or concerns for your health and safety, enjoyment or comfort. Any changes are at the discretion of Boreal Kennels and are not subject to a refund.

Boreal Kennels will provide notice as soon as reasonable possible, provided that there is sufficient time to do so before departure. If the change of an itinerary is made more than 30 days before departure you may choose

  • To accept the change and proceed with the amended tour

  • Book another tour of equal or greater value if available (you will be responsible for paying any difference in price)

  • Book another tour of lesser value if available (you will receive a refund for the difference in price)

  • Cancel the amended tour and receive a full refund

You must notify Boreal Kennels within 7 days of receiving notice. If Boreal Kennels does not receive a response you will be deemed to accept the amended itinerary.

11. Images and Marketing

You agree that, while participating in any Activity, images, photos or videos may be taken by other participants, the Tour Operator or its representatives that may contain or feature you. You consent to any such pictures being taken and grants a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide, irrevocable license to Boreal Kennels, its contractors, sub-contractors and assigns, to reproduce for any purpose whatsoever (including marketing, promotions and the creation of promotional materials by or with sub-licensees), in any medium whatsoever, whether currently known or hereinafter devised, without any further obligation or compensation payable to you

12. Safety Equipment

Boreal Kennels will require the wear of approved safety equipment while participating in certain Activities. I am aware that there are guides and/or instructors available to answer any questions I may have to proper use of such equipment

  • Pfd for all water related activities

  • Helmets for all snowmobilerelated activities

  • Additional clothing for all extreme cold weather related activities

13. Additional Information

Boreal Kennels reserves the right to deny you permission to participate in any aspect of a tour at any time and at your own risk and expense where Boreal Kennels and its licensed guides determine that your physical or mental condition renders you unfit for participation or you represent a danger to yourself or others. Examples are if participant

  • refuses to use approved safety equipment

  • is under the influence of alcohol, marihuana or any other illegal drugs

  • has no sufficient knowledge of the English language to be able to follow instructions

  • has pre-existing injuries that will not allow for physical exercise

  • is not in a physical condition to exercise as needed

  • has no travel/medical insurance

  • failure to provide accurate medical form
